Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture Inspires Many to Live Fully

BY: Peg Calvario, PHC Owner
I, too cried for a man’s celebration of life which has inspired me and many others. That is how I feel regarding the news of Randy Pausch, author of The Last Lecture his legacy. Randy has shared his life story far beyond his immediate family. His courage, strength, fitness shape and passion to live life fully with the terminal fate of pancreatic cancer is extraordinary!
How does his Lecture apply to fitness?
Exercise simply teaches you the importance of perseverance, the value of hard work, and an ability to deal with adversity. Think of your personal fitness goal - what do you want to achieve? Start your fitness journey today with others. And you’ll experience that life is worth living.
“We can not change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.” - Randy Pausch.

Great post…
I’ve been following Randy P’s story since seeing his last lecture. I also followed the personal updates he regularly posted to his blog.
It’s clear from the lectures, his TV interviews and posts he placed high value on physical fitness and exercise in his daily life.
One has to think that his excellent fitness helped him cope with the extraordinary physical challenges he faced in recovering from chemotherapy treatments again and again.
His courage and attitude made a powerful impression on me. Since learning of his death I write “Remember Randy” at the top of my to do list every morning. It inspires me to make the most of my day…

Randy’s story, Peg and Tom’s daughter Jodi’s story, my daughter Katie’s story. These are the people we look to inspire us to make the most of our lives. It’s why I’ve written a book entitled When Every Day Matters (www.wheneverydaymatters.com) We are lucky to have our lives so thank you for a wonderful newsletter to remind us.
