President Bush Proclaims a Healthier Initiative

President Bush proclaimed yesterday that May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. This year also marks the 5th year of the Healthier US Initiative, which helps Americans improve their personal health and fitness and prevent disease.

Why Participate?

More than 60% of adults fail to get enough regular exercise in their daily lives and it is estimated that obesity costs society over $92 billion in medical expenses. PHC has a solution to help you or those you care about address their problems of inactivity and obesity.

Together, on May 13th, Pottstown Health Club and OWH will kick off the WOMAN Challenge—an eight-week physical fitness challenge that encourages women to get 10,000 steps or 30 minutes of exercise each day.

OWH As part of its 4th Annual Get Active America! initiative, Pottstown Health Club will help OWH promote the WOMAN Challenge and National Women’s Health Week by integrating them into the clubs’ exercise programs and by encouraging club members and guests to participate in treadmill classes, neighborhood walks, and/or other fitness activities supporting the women’s health initiative.
