Cycling is a challenge – and a stress reliever and fat burner for Sara Zalesky.
Here is Sara Z.’s PerfectFit life changing story……Just a few short years ago, I was 235 lbs. and very lazy. Just ask my husband Eric. I would whine about every little pain or ached that I had. I would complain about how dissatisfied I was with the way I looked and felt. At this time, I was living and working in West Chester and was a member of a local health club - rarely did I workout! I was FAT! Not just fat, but morbidly obese with a total cholesterol level of 254. I was disgusted with myself for letting my body get so out of control.
In 1998, we moved to Pottstown for my husband’s teaching position. Eric was a PHC member and encouraged me to join. At first, I wasn’t all that thrilled with it. I did not know anybody, I was embarrassed to be seen at the club because I was not thin and beautiful. I could not even exercise on the elliptical for more than 15 minutes! I was pathetic.
Group Cycling Classes are a PerfectFit for all Fitness Levels
At the time, Eric had started taking an indoor cycling class led by PHC owner, Peg Calvario and was convinced to give it a try. Thankfully the cycling class was only 30 minutes – just a perfectfit for me! The two minute hill climbs were my biggest challenge! But, I came back the next class and kept coming back. Soon I was able to keep up with everyone. I started adding one more class a week until I was taking three classes per week. I was hooked! In the fall of 2002, I became a certified cycling instructor -and the rest is as they say history.
